Waste Water Land Treatment
Waste water from residential, commercial and industrial areas contains many types of chemical and pollutants. This chemical and pollutant’s main cause of water and air pollution. Therefore, it is necessary to separate the pollutants before releasing the pollutants into any watercourse or the ground. There are many ways to separate the pollutants from the waste water. Land treatment is one of them.
Land treatment is the process of systematically applying treated pollutant water to the land to prevent water and air pollution. Land treatment and reinvestment of waste water is an old method & practice to reuse polluted water.
Waste water land treatment is otherwise known as Land Application of waste water or Natural Treatment of waste water.
Reinvesting the waste water on land has the following benefits.
1.Irrigation of waste water in agricultural work helps to recycle the watery part of the waste water and plant nutrients.
2.Water pollution of rivers and lakes can be reduced to a great extent.
3.Irrigation of waste water in agricultural land can increase the production of crops and can lead to economic development of the country.
4.Irrigation of this type of waste water in agricultural fields can improve the physical and chemical conditions of the land and increase productivity.
Objectives of waste water land treatment
The main objective of waste water land treatment are described below:
The method of purification of the conscious mind involves complex physical, chemical and biological processes. Chemical processes include perspiration, absorption, light absorption, osmosis, etc. Other chemical reactions include carbon assimilation, protelesis, Anjametic hydrolysis, respiration, catabolism, and ammonification, nitrification, gentrification, etc.
The success rate of waste water irrigation in agriculture depends largely on the nature of a crop. The excrement and the yolk in it are filled with various kinds of plant food. Irrigation of this type of waste water in agricultural fields can improve the physical and chemical conditions of the land and increase productivity.
Here we have to look at one aspect. For example, the fall water needs to be properly purified before using it in the visual field. By doing this, the agricultural production can be unexpectedly increased without causing significant damage to the land.
Types of Land Treatment Method
For the sake of clarification there are 3 types of waste water land treatment method are present they are pointed below shortly:
1.Slow Rate Irrigation (SR)
2.Rapid Infiltration (RI)
3.Overflow (OF)
What is Slow Rate Irrigation (SR) Land Treatment?
The Slow Rate Irrigation system of land treatment is generally used by the municipal and industries for refine/reuse waste water.
What is Rapid Infiltration (RI) Land Treatment?
Rapid Infiltration land treatment process is the most intensive method of land treatment. It uses high hydraulic & organic loading in this method.
What is Overflow (OF) Land Treatment?
Overflow is a biological land treatment process. This process is suitable for relatively impermeable soil. BOD & suspended solids are removed by the land treatment process of Biological oxidation, sedimentation & filtration.
